The Gospel in "mini" Form
Romans 1:3-4 is an example of what is called the kerygma, Greek
meaning proclamation.
The kerygma is the "mini-gospel," covering the Crucifixion,
Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus.
The kerygma is frequently found in Scriptures, sometimes in abbreviated
form.
In addition to this Romans passage, Paul's use includes 1 Cor 15:3-4;
Gal 1:1, 3; 4:4-5; 1 Thess 1:10; 1 Tim 3:16; 2 Tim 1:10. Other examples
include Acts 2:14-39; 3:13-26; 4:10-12;5:30-32; 10:36-43, and 13:17-41.
