NeoTheism
How Much Doctrine?
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of
godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen
by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received
up in glory.
NKJV
It is often taught that true Christianity requires only a couple of beliefs:
- Jesus is God
- Jesus died on the Cross and was Resurrected for our sins
- Salvation is by justification by faith.
Neotheism, the Open View of Theology, appears to fall short on at least two of these conditions.
First, there is the possibility that many within neotheism do not view Jesus as God. In one form or another, many deny the full teaching of the Trinity. If this is so, Jesus is not fully God.
Second, it is clear that faith is not always a factor in the Open Theology game plan. Indeed, the conclusions seem to be that God will force salvation on whomever He pleases, even if it is contrary to their free will, even those without faith!. This clearly is contrary to the biblical doctrine that requires justification by faith for salvation.
