The Names of God
Exodus 3:15
Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say
to the children of Israel: 'The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My
name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

If you have reviewed the lessons on prayer, one of the pages was a discussion on the Holiness of God&s name and some of the compound names that demonstrate the character and attributes of God. There are many more naems of God besides the ones listed in this prayer lesson.
As with other men of the Bible, God is described and known by His name. Except in God&s case we find that He has several names by which He identifies Himself.
Consider the following examples of the names of God as found in Scripture and the impact these names have upon your understanding of God. Remember, in the Hebrew (H) and Greek (G), these are proper names, although many English translations use them as descriptions in order to more fully capture the meaning.
