God's Attributes

Truth



Isaiah 25:1
O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
NKJV

The attribute of truth means that God absolutely dependable and without falseness of any kind. Veracity and fidelity are other descriptions that could be used in place of this word. Truth is the conformity to fact or actuality.

All of God’s plan, principles, and promises are completely reliable, accurate, real, and factual. In them are no falsehoods or lies.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? NKJV

Psalm 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. NKJV

Psalm 91:4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. NKJV

John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. NKJV

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." NKJV

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. NKJV

Daniel 4:37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down. NKJV

Revelation 16:7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.” NKJV
