NeoTheism

A New Theology?

2 Timothy 3:1-5
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
NKJV

One of the major concerns I have for the church lies in Paul's letters to Timothy.

The Apostle writes about itchy ears.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 (NIV)
2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

What, exactly, might this mean? How does it fit the modern church?

To discuss this topic, we must look to the doctrine of salvation. Elsewhere we have considered certain points about salvation - how it is by faith alone, how that faith must be placed in Jesus Christ, and how salvation is, first, last and always, a work of God.

These are the great tenets of the Reformation --

How well are these principles still followed in the Church?
