We see here an example of the neotheists redefining concepts to fit their theology. Love becomes a substitute for salvation, promises, blessings, and the like. God promises love to Solomon, a love never withdrawn. God, however, in His sovereignty, braces His blessings upon obedience. Solomon ultimately became disobedient and God withdrew His blessings, but never His love. Open Theology incorrectly mixes these concepts into one doctrine.
Here again, we discover an undermining of the Bible. If God's unconditional promises are all converted to a conditional nature, there is no method of believing that God will ever keep His Word. This means that we have no assurance in His promises to us. On the other hand, Scripture tell us that God forever remains faithful.

It does not, therefore, depend on man&s desire or effort, but on God's
mercy.
But, isn't this just what Open Theology attempts to do - convert God to man's image so that man's efforts will become controlling?
